Wow, King & Grove sure is growing fast. The still-new hospitality company with two properties in Montauk and one in Miami has hotels in the works in L.A. and New York City. But what’s this? It looks like there could be a second Miami hotel coming to their portfolio, too.

We heard a rumor that King and Grove was working on renovating Miami’s Versailles Hotel (formerly a condo-hotel), which is located on Collins Avenue in the 30s. Positioned to become the hot new spot on Miami Beach, the stretch is already home to The Palms and The Edition South Beach, with Faena Saxony (the hotel formerly known as Cipriani Miami)

You already know how much we love stashing Lather toiletries into our bag whenever we encounter them. But how exactly did those delicious-smelling formulas wind up in hotels in the first place? We talked to Lather founder and president Emilie Hoyt to find out.

HC: When did Lather start working with hotels?
Emilie Hoyt: As they became familiar with our retail stores, hotels began reaching out to us in 2000, looking to offer a unique, authentic brand that could offer a cohesive guest experience through room, spa, and retail. We saw it as a great opportunity.

The term that once applied to the drunk antics of Lindsay Lohan is now being used to describe the on-court antics of breakout NBA star, Jeremy Lin, who has pretty much saved the New York Knicks from a dismal ball season.

The undrafted point guard from Harvard, who was a permanent bench warmer for the Golden State Warriors last year and in threat of being cut from the Knicks just a month ago, is now living the New York dream–in a hotel, of course.

We’re not sure whether to be jealous or just plain creeped out—we’re a little of both, actually—but we have to give credit to artist Anja Niemi, who really brushed up on her hotel knowledge for a new exhibition, titled Do Not Disturb. In each of the photographs, Niemi takes on a different female character who essentially becomes a ‘part’ of the hotel room. See if you can spot her in the above shot, “Room 833.” Creepy, right?

But rather than settling for just any old hotel, Niemi instead researched for months to find exactly the right room for each shot. Jealous much? Seriously, artists really live the life sometimes. For this project, Niemi traveled to hotels in New

[This story has been updated from yesterday's, which was originally posted on 2/21/12 at 3:28pm.]

We’ve been anxiously anticipating the new name for the newly merged Joie de Vivre Hotels and Thompson Hotels as the temporary name, JT Hospitality, was not very original and also conjured up a line of hotels from Justin Timberlake.

Nevertheless, the wait is over as the announcement comes today that the hotels will now fall under the new company name…COMMUNE HOTELS AND RESORTS. (And yes, the website is already up and running.)

Commune co-chairs John Pritzker and Jason Pomeranc, along with CEO Stephen Brandman put out a statement

In 2010, The Court and The Tuscany were dropped from W Hotels like hot pancakes and left to meander off on their own. Now, The Tuscany is wiping the slate clean once and for all with its new multi-million dollar renovation project, set to be completed in August 2012.

The Tuscany’s 123 rooms and suites will be outfitted with new hardwood floors and over-sized bathrooms, plus a “state-of-the-art” fitness center and a signature boutique filled with little Tuscany goodies.

And so the battle of the mid-range midtown hotels continues…but which one will give you a better deal?
